An example is the Castle of San Jorge from where there are magnificent views and that surely we enter. Even so, we have compiled what our modest eyes are the best viewpoints in Lisbon and that surely will not leave anyone indifferent.

1 Viewpoint of San Pedro de Alcantara

He is perhaps one of the best viewpoints in the city, not to say he is the best. You get on it after a very steep slope from the square of Don Pedro IV, or else we have as an alternative the glory elevator, a wonder that still stands after many years in operation.

San Pedro de Alcantara viewpoint

The views that it has towards the castle of San Jorge and the center of the city are very good and we can practically admire all the viewpoints located on the hill in front, such as that of Sophia de Mello.

2 Viewpoint of Santa Luzia / San Vicente

If we go to the Se Cathedral and when we get to this we go up to the castle of Saint George by Rua Limoeiro, We will arrive at this beautiful viewpoint with excellent views of the Tagus River and the churches of Santo Estêvão and São Vicente de Fora. Here is a small cafe located above the viewpoint where we can have a coffee without having to dodge the mass of tourists who arrive to this place.

3 Viewpoint of Sophia de Mello (next to the Graça church)

We have the most beautiful sunset from the viewpoint of Sophia de Mello. Many will say that it is from the castle of San Jorge, but the advantages that this other has is that they are practically stuck and we also do not have to pay admission. It also has the plus of being the place of a summer terrace where we can have our long-awaited beer.

4 Santa Catarina Viewpoint

If it is described in this article it is because I had no choice but to comment. Personally it is not the prettiest and also the views are damaged by high buildings that cover quite the April 25 bridge.

5 Mirador de Cristo Rei

If we take a boat from the subway / train station of Cais do Sodre and once we reach the other side of the river (Calcihas) we ride a bus to the statue of Christ the King, similar to the redeeming Christ of Rio de Janeiro but in a poorer version, we will have great views of the bridge of April 25 and of Good part of Lisbon.

It is one of the icons of the city and that we will surely visit during our instance in Lisbon. The castle itself does not have much, except its walls and good views of Lisbon, very similar to those we can find in the viewpoint of Sophia de Mello.

7 Santa Justa Elevator

Unlike the rest of the viewpoints, it stands on an old elevator built in 1902. This mass of steel rises above the buildings located near the Rua da Prata. Its views are not splendid but it is worth approaching to observe this marvel of engineering of the early twentieth century.
